The Word information screen allows you to better understand, remember and use the words you're coming across in Memrise. From status tracking, clear translations and pronunciation practice to real-world audio and video clips - it’s all in one place.
Where can I find it?
You can access Word Information in two places:

On the My Words page (the book icon at the top of the screen)

While viewing a Scenario—just tap the three dots (⋯) next to any word or phrase, then tap Word information
What does it include?
When you open Word Information, you’ll see:

Clear translations and literal meanings
Side-by-side meanings give you a richer understanding of how the word really works. -
Word status
See whether you’ve marked it as known or difficult—and update it any time. -
Script and romanization
Great for script-based languages like Japanese, Korean, or Arabic. -
Real-world audio and video clips
Hear how locals really say it and see it used naturally in conversation. -
Pronunciation practice
Launch into Pronunciation Buddy and check your own pronunciation.
Can I practice pronunciation here?
Yes! If the word supports pronunciation, you can tap a button right from the Word Information screen to practice it using our Pronunciation Buddy.
Is this available for all languages?
Yes! However, be aware that video clips, script/romanization and Pronunciation Buddy availability may vary by language and item.
Do I need a subscription to use it?
No 🙂 You can currently access Word Information for free.
